This is a huge dilemma for most brides! At one point, chair covers were the height of fashion. However now, there is some controversy as to whether they have had their day. Some brides are lucky enough to find a venue that has lovely chairs and this will never be an issue. But unfortunately, a lot of venues have old banqueting chairs that aren’t very attractive. If you are stuck in this position, what should you do? What are your options? Here are 3:
Use the chairs with no cover
Banqueting chairs can be quite ugly when they are old, but if they are relatively new, they can be okay. I decorated a wedding recently where the banqueting chairs were velvet grey and silver; they looked gorgeous! I advised the bride to use the chairs as they were and to ditch the chair covers. She took my advice and the room looked lovely!
This bride was lucky though as usually the banqueting chairs are red and gold or navy and silver. If your colours are navy or red, then you can probably get away with using the chairs as they are but other than that, to avoid your colours from clashing, you may have to consider another option.
Use chair covers
Chair covers are so controversial. Some people love them and some people hate them! If you like or want chair covers, that is fine; be proud! They now come in various colours, textures and designs. We supply a crisscrossed back chair cover which is quite popular if you want something a little different; even those that are not great fans of chair covers like these ones.
If you want to add some colour, a sash can be added. Again like chair covers, sashes are available in so many colours, textures, fabrics and designs.
Just remember that putting on and taking off chair covers is a time consuming affair, so your venue stylist will need extra time for set up and break down.

Hire different chairs
This is my personal favourite and it doesn’t always cost much more than hiring chair covers.
Chairs have become a big part of wedding decor as people have started to realise that they do make an impact on the overall look of your wedding.
Think about your theme. If you are having a rustic themed wedding, you may opt for something wooden. If you are going glam, then there are so many options from Chiavari chair to Arabella. Love seats and sofas are also big at the moment.

Chairs are a huge consideration for your wedding decor. When choosing your venue, look into the chair option that they offer. Think about whether it works with your theme or not. Check that the venue have space to store their in-house chairs if you do decide to hire in chairs from outside.
Chair covers or not? It’s up to you; there is no wrong or right answer. The main thing is to ensure that you explore all the options.
